Joe James
Executive Producer / On The Ear Music LLC

Joe has had an extensive career in the recording industry. As a 25-year veteran he has served as an assistant engineer at the Dhu-Ron Studios in Hollywood and later at the world-renowned A&M Records and Recording Studios under the supervision of the NY crew Jimmy Iovine, Shelly Yakus & Mark Harvey. It was at A&M that he was promoted to A&R Technical Manager under the supervision of David Anderle, liaising with producers, engineers, artists and production to achieve the final specs and approval for an artists release.

A&M proved to be fertile ground for developing his record production skills. After an extended stay at A&M he left with music executive John McClain for his next job as a staff producer, personal assistant and facility manager at Marvin’s Room Recording Studio for Dreamworks Music. After that, he spent time as operations manager at Extasy/Atlantic Recording Studios and Record Company, continuing his production work during his stay. Today he continues his music production work and is still an active musician and writer while he guides and directs his enterprise “On The Ear Music”, with an active roll in production and development of new artists. Joe James founded and directs the Berklee A&R/Artist Development Group in Boston.
