Growing up in New York City, Raven Katz has been artistically influenced by her surrounding colors and sounds since birth. Originally dreaming of becoming a visual artist, Ms. Katz spent many years studying at Brooklyn Museum of Art. Although loving the visual arts, Raven found a niche creating music. With influences such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Miles Davis, she began to write lyrics and melodies accompanied by her famous dissonant sounds. Currently attending Berklee College of Music, Raven finds herself heavily drawn to the world of Jazz as instructed by her previous mentor, Joanna Pascale. She currently writes folk, jazz and world music and continues to be an avid lyricist.
